How Can I Protect My Home and Family This Summer?

Upgrading your air conditioner this year will not only keep you cool during the next heat wave, but it can also help to protect you and your home from the effects of the heat. By filtering the air in your home, you can get more out of the day by reducing the risk of heat stroke, improving your quality of sleep, and humidity control. More importantly, you can help protect your pets from overheating.

Factors To Consider Choosing an Air Conditioner

Home Exterior

Is your home prone to reflecting heat or absorbing it based on the materials of your exterior?

Insulation

Older homes with poor insulation are more prone to losing heat or cold air, while well-insulated homes will keep your home cooler all summer long.

Windows

How thick are your windows? Single-pane windows are less energy efficient, meaning you will need a higher BTU rating to keep your home cool.

FAQ

A SEER Rating is the ratio of the cooling of an air conditioner over a whole season divided by the energy it uses (Watt-Hours). The higher the SEER Rating, the more efficient the air conditioner will be.

SEER Rating = Cooling ÷ Season ÷ Energy used (Watts-Hour)

Yes! Air conditioners absorb heat and moisture from the air in your home. Without an air conditioner, high humidity levels can create a damp environment that can lead to dust mites, mould, and negative health impacts. You are more susceptible to heat stroke and dehydration in higher humidity levels.

Air conditioning BTUs are calculated at 20 BTUs per square inch. As a rule of thumb, a lower BTU rating for your home will not keep your home cool, while higher BTU ratings can result in wasting excess energy. The average BTUs for residential air conditioners range from 20,000 to 50,000. To ensure an accurate quote for your home, our team will assist you with measuring the square footage of your home.

Dyand techician James was awesome. Helped get my furnace going at 1:00 am when is was -40 outside over the phone. He returned the next morning and replaced the fan motor that had a dead spot in it. Only coming on if it was in the right position. Saved us from freezing that night and now furnace runs once again perfectly.

After waiting a few weeks for our furnace to get fixed by someone else, our landlord called DYAND. Ryan, the HVAC tech, was very helpful and friendly when he came to fix our furnace. He went above and beyond to replace the inducer motor the same day despite the difficulty in finding the motor in the city. We are very grateful to him for getting our heat working before the snow hit on the weekend.

Very good company to deal with. From start to finish the quote and work was done with as quoted. The install took longer than expected but that was due to the installers taking the time needed to do it correctly and not just as quick as possible. It was a large complicated scope of work and it was completed extremely well.

Furnace stopped working, called and spoke with very pleasant lady. Dispatched technician within two hours. Technician was polite, on time and very efficient. Repaired fan mount and heat was back on in four hours. A week later, furnace fan quit again. Quick, polite service and replaced capacitor. A different problem and no additional charge to first service call. Very happy with their service and will use again.
